Broad-leafed Melaleuca is a robust, adaptable Australian native growing to 3-5m as a large shrub or small tree. The leaves are broader than most Melaleucas - more oval than linear - and the flower spikes appear in cream to yellow tones through spring and summer. It is one of the more adaptable Melaleucas for varied soil conditions, tolerating both well-drained and seasonally moist soils. A good bird-attracting plant and a practical screening or background shrub for larger native gardens. Full sun. Adaptable soils. Phosphorus-free fertiliser. Drought tolerant once established.
